The discussions on your Prelaunch.com Product Page are heavily correlated with your Prelaunch Score.

This doesn’t mean that more comments increase your Prelaunch Score, or that no comments will give you a Prelaunch Score of zero. But in most cases, projects with high Prelaunch Scores see a lot of activity on their discussion pages.

We attribute this to the idea that projects that are interesting to talk about are also interesting to buy. Projects that nobody is interested in, aren’t worth leaving a comment for — positive or negative.

Discussions also provide very valuable qualitative information. So make sure you read through them, regardless of your Prelaunch Score, and extract the most value you can from them.
