How to add product options
Updated over a week ago

Product Options allows you to test different product options against one another — at the same time!

Just like online shoppers can choose between different options before adding it to their cart on ecommerce stores, now you can simulate the experience and gather valuable data before you launch.

Things like different colors, different feature sets, different sizes.

Think of all the flavors of the iPhone 15. Or a 256 GB MacBook vs a 512 GB one. Or an electric bike with a range of 100 miles and the upgraded 150-mile version. Or a blue yoga mat vs a green one. Or a Pixel 2 Watch with WiFi vs the one with cellular networking. The possibilities are endless!

And like everything on Prelaunch.com, building this Amazon-like checkout experience on is quick and simple:

1. Create a single project & add options

Create a Prelaunch Project just as you would normally.

Then, when building the reservation page (and setting the price), choose “Add Option”.

  1. Name the Option Group (eg. size, color, power)

  2. Select whether you want it to appear as a text box or as image + text

  3. Add each option with its own price and image if necessary

2. Visitors choose the option they want

When visitors land on your page, they’ll be able to select which option they want… just like they will do during checkout on your future store!

Now instead of just seeing the standard reservation page, they see this:

The reservation works just as before — they leave a 1-5% ($1-100) deposit in order to reserve their discount — except now they’re leaving it for a specific implementation of your product!

3. Make better data-driven decisions

All of this activity is tracked and presented to you in your Prelaunch Analytics dashboard:

Now you can see exactly how in-demand the premium Titanium color option is and plan your SKUs accordingly. Or you can choose to invest in developing that bigger-battery model.

Or whatever else it was you wanted to test — Prelaunch doesn’t limit you!
